2004 Lancer press release, pics, and now, TEST DRIVE!
Hey, yea it does carry a sunfire like front, but it shows one thing....
Mitsu is listening. Yes 164 or whatever horsepower might be a bit short still, but everything that nags me on my car, being brakes, steering, soft suspension (when it was stock), etc, has been addressed. I look forward to test driving one. While I wont buy one, seeing as how nothing is wrong with my daily transportation, I am enthused to see how different the "new" car is. Just glad Mitsu addressed the shortcomings of the OZ.

I have to admit I thought the other photos of it in the champagne color made it look like crap, but now it doesnt look so bad. The front ofcourse is still awful but otherwise not too shabby. Im still sticking with my lancer and saving up for a turbo from RRM though.
holy ****..that's nice. they upgraded like..EVERYTHING (well except for downgrading the outside..
)
but man..all that for 17,000..i feel cheated with my OZ..
im so surprised to hear about the Infinity system..that should REALLY sound good..wow

I still like the exterior of the 02/03 better, but that engine is such a perfect candidate for an engine swap
But yeah, from a racing standpoint, the Ralliart Lancer has more to offer, but for something that almost bumped up to the level of the Impreza RS (The displacement and horsepower are now almost equal), they forgot 2 things:
- AWD
- Limited Slip
oh well, if I were to trade my Lancer in, I'd still take an Impreza.

i'd think the cost of an engine swap would be about if not more than the cost of an intercooled turbo system for the lancer. not to mention you kinda have to wait till these things come out, start getting totaled by idiot drivers, but their engines aren't damaged...
the whole reason i'm seriously considering it is because
1. the 02-03 lancer doesn't have nearly enough power, even with mods (NA that is)
2. sunroof, foglights, and other goodies
3. truly impoved suspension and tuning with the ralliart package (unlike the purely cosmetic oz package)
i'll probably still hold out a while, and see if i can catch any rumors of the dodge m80 coming out. i want that truck like something fierce.

i was cruising the Yahoo auctions! taiwan site looking for TDM/JDM parts and came across a 04 lancer from Taiwan.
chrome housing

massive taillights

wood grain interior with minor aluminum trim[look at door handle] Triptronic transmission invecs III, leather interior, cubby cover under radio and climate controls, and upper half of the dash above the radio has been modified looks alot nicer.

Just my opinion:
I wanted to get a Diamond White OZ in the past...
but my industry if suffering, so I couldn't afford a new car...
especially since i'd have to buy so many aftermarket mods...
but I don't think the RalliArt Lancer looks so good in white...
time to find a new colour...
to simplify the list of changes (that i could find online):
+ Bigger, more powerful, variable timing engine
+ better exhaust
+ better steering
+ much much better suspension
better antisway bar
front strut tower bar
tower braces
RalliArt spec modified macpherson strut
RalliArt spec for all sorts of things i guess...
the springs, shocks, etc....
+ much better braking system
ABS with EBD
bigger disc
most improtantly, no drums on the back! save myself the time and money of conversion ^_^
+ Transmission
better synchro for 2nd gear
EVO shifter
+ 16" Euro-flange Al Alloy Wheel
+ 205/50R16 tires
+ Fog lights
+ much better stereo system
+ sport bucket seats for JDM Evo GSR
at the cost of
- an extra ~$5000 CDN$ (~$3000US$)
- ugly split grill
- ugly "sculpted" headlights
- weird smily front end
- the absolute neccessity for a body kit on the front
- people mistaking you for a pontiac
11 positive points, to 6 negative points,
I think the new RalliArt Lancer is worth it and I hope to get one as soon as i can.
Is there any difference between the body of the RalliArt Lancer the the Australian Magna and Verada?

good point...nobuyuki.
as for the magna and verada...those aren't Australias Lancers...those are Australia's versions of the Diamante[Verada] and Galant[Magna].
they look the same as our lancers but the rear ends throw it off real easily...plus check the specs they are equipped with v6 6g74's.
on a side note i like the Magna VRX front bumper...for some reason i get the Infinity G35 feel from it.

Yeah, i notices the engines on the australian
were V6, but i was just wondering if the body was the same as the 04 lancer... well, it's got that same ugly split grill on the front...
But i noticed lancer was in the "small" category and magna and verada were in the "medium/large" category...
