Received my 02 ES in May 04 with about 40k on it. Currently has 60k. I drive it like a beast and it's pretty reliable despite it. I had to replace the brakes and I think my rotors are going out. There is a strange clicking sound I hear up front when I hit bumps. My mechanic says it is the the heatshield hitting against the header. If I get an aftermarket header the problem should be solved.

I once got a 95 Civic with 100k on it and it was terribly unreliable. It almost swayed me from not getting another Honda but I realize the fault was the high mileage and the previous owner treated it like ****. My 01 Civic has 56k on it and has 0 problems as well, except the cheap interior fabric is stripping and there's a strange sound coming from inside the door on turns.

Still, my Lancer is keeping up with my Honda in terms of reliability so that says alot about the car.

looks like the people that do modifications to there car are the ones having the major problems. This seem to go hand in hand: Owner tunes car = Owner pushes the car to much = Major problems = Owner blaming car company .

anyways i have had my car for about 3 yrs and 39,000 miles. Other then that fan recall thing I have had no problems whatsoever.

I'm at 50000 and I haven't had a single problem with my car...I've had the serpentine belt changed, and I've replaced the rotors and pads...but that's about it

2002 Lancer OZ, 55K, trans has been griding from 10k, dealer cannot fix it, new throw out bearing, idle revving in traffic, clutch grips all over the place, recall for fan motor, oil sensor went out, back of car squeaks really loudly sometimes...but the worst thing is the trans, it is terrible, won't go into gear, grinds, just terrible... AWESOME gas mileage though!
