She lives!

Welp, my car's up and running again. I still need a lot of tuning, registration, insurance and inspection, but at least I'm idling again. My Defi FP gauge seems to be having problems too. The troubleshooting manual says it may be ignition interference in the signal, but iono. I think my electrical system is still screwy too, because I can hear the fuel pump slow a little when I use accessories (such as windows), but for right now I'll just assume that's because the alternator's been stationary for so long. So yeah...she's alive! ...sorta. Just gotta make sure she's drivable and then take her to get tuned (I don't wanna take a month to do it myself, and trial and error SUUUUCKS) I don't know if I'm having boost holding problems because I don't wanna take the car out till she's legal, but at least my AFR's seem to have normalized. I guess we'll see how this turns out. Can't be any worse than the last 2 times I had her running. Anywho, wish me luck!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. She's just idling.

Step #2, I found my extended inspection sticker. My mom can make me an insurance card (or my father...whoever), and hopefully I can get my registration done early this week. Then it's just a matter of tuning. Fun fun fun.

THIS time it was two cracked runners on the weld seams of my manifold.

Also, after idling her some more (and moving like 5' ) it seems like the belt was just slipping a little on the alternator or something, because the power seems a lot more stable now. Too bad I still have other electrical problems like my dome light and keyless entry not working. Only minor problems right now. Still have to tap my collector or downpipe for my EGT probe and figure out the fuel pressure gauge problem, set my boost controller, and (more importantly) get her on the road and make sure she can HOLD boost. It's hard to build load while idling, and I don't know if I have a boost leak or anything at the moment. It's entirely possible however.

Oh yeah...I cleaned all the glass, the trunk and the back seat before too. I guess I'm doing the front (after I put all the interior trim back in) tonight or tomorrow, and washing her for the first time in about 2 years too. Pine needles like you wouldn't believe.

Funny thing is, yeah I put in a lot of work, but the time really wasn't as much as you'd think. It was just spread out over such a long period that it seems like a lot.

My pimp hand is exhausted now. Spent 4 hours cleaning the car. No wait...more like 5. Interior is pristine, exterior's nice if you ignore the ****ty paint and the spot where pine sap dripped onto the hood. I'll have to clay bar that at some point. First time the car's been washed in more than 2 years. (I was never big on washing, especially because the paint was so bad to begin with.)
