I'm a firm believer in spacers. A member here (or was it mirageforums...? ) did a test and found that his turbo'd intake charge temps were almost 50 degrees cooler with just the IM spacer. Fifty!
If it did that for a turbo'd, I would assume you'd see similar results for a supercharged.

I guess I'll handle this: EVERYONE can benefit from cooler air intake charge. If cooler air wasn't important, no one would have hood scoops, CAI's, FMIC sprayers, etc. Cooler air=denser charge or air= more oxygen per volume=more oxygen available to burn= more power

i guess here's my question, pertaining to superchargers (though not as much) and turbos:

for n/a guys, the heat is coming from the block and gets transfered via contact to the manifold, correct? thats where the thermal spacers come into play, they don't allow heat to transfer from the block to the manifold

however, for FI applications, heat is coming from the blower side, through the tb, and heating the manifold that way, so how does the spacer work then? i don't think its designed to work in that capacity, so the question is: does it do enough on FI applications to negate the heat coming from block and IM?

of course eboy just pointed out a 50c drop, so maybe my rambling is worthless

you still have heat coming off the block pre-heating the IM. And isn't the point of an intercooler to cool the charge that's going into the IM? I dunno because I've never piped one, but if that's the case, tehn these would work even better because you're no un-doing the work that the intercooler does.... if, again, that's actually what the intercooler is doing

i see what your saying kris, i guess we wouldnt' know for sure unless we had intake air temps compared with block temps. although we can assume block temps will always be higher than intake temps, so i suppose the spacer would serve a purpose regardless
