SAFC Pros/Cons

So i'm debating right now whether or not to buy a used Apexi SAFC off of a guy locally. It's the blue screen version and is in good condition. But the thing I'm thinking about is how much would it help my car's performance? keeping in mind that it's stock in powertrain aspects right now, but I plan on adding a cat-back and SRI in the near future. But as of right now what good can the SAFC do for me, can it improve gas mileage? better low end power? better throttle response?

edit** he's selling it for $150

You might get it now and hold on to it until you have the other mods.

mileage??? if u mean gas mileage, it should be better, cause all you mainly do with really any piggyback, is take away some fuel. our cars run pretty dam rich with the stock fuel maps.

yes it is worth it, even if u have no mods, you will benefit from running just a little leaner.

last, PLEASE SEARCH, there was another thread on this EXACT topic posted just a few hours ago, SEARCH.

An explanation of why he should buy it for a good price?

1) it does what it's supposed to
2) that's a great price
3) you can tune your car with it

Dude, this isn't rocket science...

it is worth it no matter how little of mods you had. it can provide huge gains. it won't give you any gains if you don't change how much fuel is going to the engine by adjusting you safc settings, and i wouldn't change anything unless you have a wideband. someone can dyno tune it as well, but you need some type of way to measure your A/F ratio correctly. you also need to retune it everytime you add a mod that will lean or richen your A/F mixture. one of the main advantages of the safc over a flash or custom tune is that flexibility when you mod. but again, you need to measure A/F ratios when using it. so if you plan on getting only intake/exhaust, you should get flashed to get a little extra out of your car without having to worry about what you did. if you know how to tune a car and have access to a wideband or a dyno, you could get a little more out then a flash could. both should improve gas mileage.
