Smile Attention: All members with deposits for Evos

I'm compiling a list of all dealers where members have deposits on Evos at MSRP. If you have a deposit please email

webmaster@lancerforums.com

with the following info.

Dealer Name
Location (City and State)
Contact / Sales Rep
Phone #

I will be compiling the list and putting it up on the web asap to help others who are interested in finding a dealer in their area.

Thanks,

Mark

how would u go about doing this when there is no MSRP specified yet...what if u put a deposit and the dealer charges 8 grand over msrp...u gotta pay the ridiculous price or lose the deposit...is anyone stupid enough to put a deposit down when the price is whatever the dealer wants to set it at after they have ur money.

That's why you get a signed receipt that shows that the dealer agrees to sell for MSRP or lower...

I wouldn't do a non-refundable deposit becuase then your stuck, whatever the price is. Technically dealers don't have to take deposits, but many are right now. If you have something in writing that says they will sell it for MSRP and your deposit is refundable then you shouldn't have much to worry about. If you change your mind they'll just sell to someone else.

This list will only be to help members find a dealer. Hopefully will announce MSRP soon and we won't in limbo for much longer.

KK, check your PMs.

I contacted 4 area dealerships. None were taking deposites at this point. I did speak with one sales manager and with multiple people, he would be willing to offer the car at MSRP. If they become avilable in Auto, count me in for two since my wife will be getting a new car soon. We really need to get our stuff togeather so we don't pay over MSRP.
California folks email me, we need to start pooling our buying power. I am willing to take the lead on this for the Ca, Bay Area. But you guys need to email KK or myself.

Ken

Evo VII will not be coming to the USA this winter!!

I just wanted to let everyone know the information that my partners and myself have been told by Mitsubishi.

As of right now, there will be no Evo VII coming to the USA, at all!

Mitsubishi is going to be bringing the Evo VIII to the USA Summer of 2003!

If you find this hard to believe, just call any Mitsubishi Dealership in the country and ask them when they expect to be getting the Evo. If the dealership you are asking is "In the know" then they will tell you that they have nothing coming until Summer 2003.

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I just want to make sure that everyone can get their deposits back, because the Evo VII is NOT coming to the USA this winter.

EDIT: This link should answer a lot of questions:

And why should I listen to someone who is trying to sell Japan spec Evo VIIs in the US?

And why would Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America say January 2003?

This is brom the link that you posted......
Lancer Evolution: It's Coming!

The magnificent Lancer Evolution will appear in U.S. showrooms in the spring of 2003. ``The Lancer EVO is our chance to stir the blood of every enthusiast and build our reputation as a major performance player in this country,'' said Pierre Gagnon, president and chief operating officer of MMSA. ``It will cast warm light on every product we sell. When we say we build spirited cars for spirited people, everyone will be listening.''

Building on the Lancer sedan's robustly designed unibody, Mitsubishi's engineers pulled out all the stops, taking ``The Bionic Man'' approach to reinvention of a stronger, faster and smarter performance car. This unrivalled compact, super-sedan speaks volumes to Mitsubishi's technological prowess, and World Rally Championship winning heritage. Expect the Lancer Evolution sedan we'll see in U.S. showrooms to rumble with a 2.0 liter turbocharged, inline-four developing more than 250 rabid horses, gravity-defying four-wheel-drive handling, eye-ball displacing Brembo brakes and a sub-30K sticker price.

Spring is NOT Summer, and I think you are just trying to stir up support for your group by giving disinformation, and not having any proof of what your are saying. Everything credable that I have read says between November and March 2003. Give it a rest you posted the same message is several threads. Abviously we have seen so many rumors about this car, that I won't believe anything until it comes from mitsu in a press release. We will have to wait and see what happens.

For What Its Worth

A couple of days ago I called the US toll free number for MMC. After talking to the girl for a while I had convinced her to ask around for info on the EVO coming here. I waited on hold for a while and when she returned, she said she had been told they would be here in September. They did not yet have any info on the final configuration af the US car.

I had explained to her that I was beginning to rebuild my 92 GSX that I had purchased new and was trying to decide whether to mod the car or just do a stock rebuild. No sense spending money on mods that could go into a new bigger braked car.....

So, for what its worth.http://www.mitsucars.com/ourcompany/...e=RACC&imgno=1

I've already found a place here in the us... tampa bay florida to be specific that you can actually get an Evo 7 right now... it's not a U.S. evo 7, it's the Japanese Evo 7, with the steering wheel on the other side, but it still kicks ***!!!

Prices:

for 1 = $49,000
for 7 or more = $37,000

That price includes, the car, importing it and a New ECU without limiter installed.

If any of you want more info, just reply back.... and I can link yall up to the site that I found it.
