mitsubishi is trying sooo hard to not pay for my controll arm
now that theyre running out of excuses he said its because my rims and tires that it broke and that "aftermarket tires put stress on the controll arm" but i fail to see how it puts any more stress on the controll arm than the stock rims...its not like theyre attached to a different place......but ive made up my mind, once the lancer is fixed im selling it and buying an evo....it will be worth not being able to spend a damn dime on anything else to know my car wont fall apart from normal driving
what were there first couple of excuses as to why it broke?
Make sure you get your mitsu dealer to write down the reason as to why they won't fix your problem under warranty.
Then,
I'd call your regional mitsu rep and complain about the service and lies your dealership is telling you.

i will but i think im going to give up on this case....i dont want to **** them off too much because when i get my evo, if anything breaks i want them to not hold the grudge on me
I got in an accident with my ES and they stated I couldn't use aftermarket parts. I had to get overpriced OEM parts. I could have completed re-done my suspension, wheels and tires for what they charged me and all they offered for the screw up was free oil changes for life, which are free now anyway.

wow..... why would you even buy an evo from that stealership? seriously f**k them man.... if ur considering buying an evo there's a couple here on the boards for really cheap (21-23k) and I'm sure more dealerships in your area. the cost of mainenance and insurance on the evo is going to be a lot higher than the cost of this...... and i wish you lived around me, sheesh, i'd do mainenance on this for 300 bucks.

Magnuson-Moss warranty act states that the dealer cannot blame any warranted problem on just any aftermarket product present in the vehicle. They have to prove that the product is the direct cause of the problem you have. Also the denial or voiding of warranty has to be issued on paper for your reference, otherwise it is not legally denied or voided.
Example: A cold air intake Has nothing to do with faulty spark plugs and to pay the dealer $60 to change the plugs is a rip off.

Hell yeah blaze - thanks for those links.
Man oh man, honni. I feel for you. I think you should take things up with the regional manager or just get a decent lawyer.
Hope everything works out for you in the end.
