RoadRace Fibreglass Grill (sux ?) i think so

my story begins on a friday (payday), i decide why not buy something for my car instead of the usual 200 bux at the club, so i order the grill from roadrace....
any grill is a improvement from the stock bra strap haha

it arrived on time, was pretty happy bout that, so i take it home start putting it on, and low and behold theres a gap where the bumper meets the grill, like an inch big, i dunt understand why RRM would design it like this, all the pics of this grill are taken from birds eye view, so u cant see the gap....why not design one that fit perfect? u see other makes of cars with aftermarket grills and they fit fine, so wuts roadraces excuse, is it the design team that needs a *****slap or just a dick for an owner who likes ripping ppl off, oh yah if i send it bak, i still pay $100 shipping charges........i thought they had a good reputation for selling quality parts...........ill post some pics monday at work.....this is complete and udder
bull$%&$.

Any1 else had this problem, any info would be much appreciated........
i really hope roadrace does something to fix this, or they shouldnt be selling bunk parks! and let the professionals do it!!!!!!!!!

In all my experience, fiberglass never seems to fit well. This isn't an excuse for RRM. I'm just saying that everyone does a pretty bad job as well. Sorry to hear about the crappy deal.

Yeah, it tends to deform even if it's perfectly molded. Still, it's not always the product that matters so much as how situations are handled. I've never had a problem with RRM's cust. serv., and serious complaints are few and far between, but I hope they handle everything well for you.

I bought there CF version and there is a small gap but nothing real noticable. the gap gets a little bigger towards the middle...but its still at most half an inch in the middle on my cf one.

give me a half inch gap between your bumper and hood and i'll gladly steal part of your engine and most aftermarket part you put in. I got a non RRM grill but accolade ones and there is a considerable gap where i can unlatch the hood and prop it open. It's a no joke situation. And it's part of my rigorous test of grill that i haven't posted yet since i have some limit in posting new threads. People in florida are pros in stealing parts and they always check the gap between hood and front bumper to if they can get into it. I can open your hood in 3 ways: finesse, forcing hood up and fast, and breaking the latch itself. Now i got hood pins on my car to deter those freaks. Anyway I hope to get a better grill and found none so far... I haven't check ralliart grrill yet btw

i got the grill from accolade ... there isnt a gap at all ... it fit fine except for one of the pins didnt want to snap back down all the way ... so i just put a screw ... other than that the accolade one fit just right

I've always hated the way RRM's Evo grille fits.

The FRP Evo grille from Cerious is much better.

Yeah, the CF ones warp a little too (at least mine did), but it's barely noticable. The reason for that I believe is because it's fiberglass reinforced, or primarily made of fiberglass then wrapped in CF. Either way, I believe that causes minor twisting.

well it pisses me off that a vendor so popular like RRM would even send out a grill like that, halfway across a the country, and over the border to canada.....they must know that theyre grills dont fit right and still they sell them claiming it fits and looks good.........the gril is pretty strong and its not warped in any way shape or form, its just not a good fit at all, like a child walked passed when i was putting it on and said "how come it dont fit", just horrible i say, just horrible~

I WANNA HEAR RRM's REPLY TO THIS>>>>>CMON TELL THE WORLD THE REASONING BEHIND SUCH A ****TY GRILL AND WHY U STILL SELL EM?

I have the same problem but I fixed it by putting a piece of rubber door molding inbetween the hood and the bumper and it makes it look much better. You have to do the best with what your delt with.
