Like the infamous Whiplash1 & 2 at the burnout comps, just flip around your headers (say a RRM header) and cut a sizable hole in your hood and get an impressive flame out of it. Like to see Lancer do that, rrrright.

well it boils down to what type of motor you have and how much it has been built already.. This Honda engines may use 2.5" because this motors can carry so much power, even its N/A.. compared to our SOHC engine, a 2.25" might be good enough.. then again, when the lancers turbo already, it might be better to use a 2.5"... there are different circumstances.. And what kind of CTR is this?.. Whats the engine and what shell?..

To add onto Boe's comments...Why not just have them come out of the car like a snorkel and drive it through a river, yea!

FYI, the honda has a 3" exhaust, and apparently a 5" intake tube.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=138536 ,but i only have stock exhuast, well, only from the headers to the last cat. custom catback. haha, glasspacked my lancer. good low sound, not high and raspy, and you never hear a loud pop or crack like a honda fart can or anything. but the intake lets my auto breath alot better. but on exhuast, unless your going turbo, getting super high ratio pistons, giant valves, or anything of the sort. just leave them alone. or go straight pipe. just dont stop halfway out the back, dont want to get poisned and/or die from your new exhuast

well u dont wana go to big cause u NA u need backpressure.....for turbo guys it doest really matter....hell u could just dump outta the turbo itself and and it wouldt matter....but i would say 2.25in....bigger doest mean faster...

im sure there is an equation or sumthing for this... not an exact as no two are are the same... but if he had over 70K invested my guess is that the engine had lots of work done to it to get it a well engineered as possible.

just b/c you are n/a doesnt mean you need a small exhaust... the only reason you need the small exhast is to keep the torque down low... a larger exhaust just moves the power around it doesnt get rid of it

The solution that i have installed on a customers car was a solinoid activated cutout (butterfly style valve) after the second cat at the 90. We set it to open under WOT above 4.5k RPM. Feels almost like VTEC. It was rather odd but that was what the customer wanted.
