Why is getting a new car out of the question? If you don't mind me asking.

Im 17 and theirs no point in getting anew car or spending 10,000 dollars on this one. I think Im just going to get a basic turbo set up and Ill be happy. All I want it a fast racing daily driver. What should I get to go with the RRM Turbo Kit? Thanks. Does anyone know anything about the tcugo? Thnaks

If you literally have 10000$ to spend, get a new car. Sure you're only 17, but you'll be happier in the long run. Ralliarts are making NA what people are making on stage 1 turbos, and WRXs and SRT-4s are already almost at stage 2 power levels. I've never heard of the tcugo and if you search or hell look at this thread you'll see what people suggest to go with the RRM turbo.

I guess I just don't get it, your 17 years old, mostly in highschool and getting ready to go away to college. You have $10,000 dollars just to throw away into a car that worth nothing in the near future. AS you say in your sign you hate it in alabama, move away and I"m sure the money you spent on that experience will far out weight modding your car for " a fast racing daily driver".

man ur so lucky all that money to spend on your car ::tears:: but neway if u really dont want to buy a new car go turbo one guy listed everything you can get for about 9Gs.(page 2 of this thread). I would try to buy every product on RRMS list but right now i have a old bout to break squeaky belt to worry about so gl. O forgot even though ur 17 if you were to sell your car and keep the 10Gs you could get an evo assuming you have a job or wealthy parents to keep your car payments and insurance up. if you have an evo and your 17 no mods needed and lots of girls will come flocking.

where are you in Alabama Techno-Elf? There aren't too many of us lancer drivers in Alabama and like 1 person close to me. Before you have your mind completely made up on the RRM turbo i would look at the RPW one or maybe even the RIPP SDS. For any kit you are still going to need supporting mods: header, exhaust, I/m, t/b, etc. . . Kind of off topic but i didn't think you could use SRI or CAI w/ a turbo kit. Doesn't the turbo piping connect to the throttle body where the intake would be?

Ambystom's mod list was pretty dead on. If I were you I would wait a year or two before doing all those mods. Trust me you'll get so much more out of it if you know what the mods are doing to your car and what they shouldn't be doing. Plus it is so much more fun to do things gradually and to do it yourself. Turboing a car which was never designed to be turboed is a huge undertaking, even with a kit like rrm's, and you will be spending lots of money on install and maintenance. has anyone factored in the cost of getting that long list of parts installed? Oh yeah and your warranty will be toast too, but it doesn't seem like money is a problem.

Good luck with the car though! I wish I had the freedom to mod like that
