Schroth installed

Well I installed my Schroth rallye cross harness on Thursday. Install was easy enough after I figured out how to get the rear seat out (nothing like it is on an evo apparently). Haven't taken the car for a spin with it on yet but once I do I'll add a review of that as well. Have to thank Urbanknight for giving a great price on an awesome product.

I hope you mount those harnesses properly before you start to use them. Look good though.

I'm glad you bolted the ends to your rear seats instead of down under the front seats like a lot of people mistakenly do

arent they supposed to be attached to some sort of bar that runs behind the seats. i've seen that done before.

EDIT: this is just the first thing that showed up when i googled it:
http://www.ravenwingperformance.net/...s_4-Point.html

apparently i was refering to a roll bar....i just woke up

well that is an option...the GSC Harness Bar that was just reviewed would work perfectly...In fact that is what I want to do....but mounting them to the same mount points as the rear seat belts is also an option!

They are supposed to be attached at the same height as your shoulders, lower can cause a broken back in the case of a colision or accident of some sort. Even prolonged use of harness can cause serious back problems if installed improperly. There is a good solution that I saw on an evo application that would fit the lancer, There is a harness bar (forget the company name, possibly sparko (sp), that has a bar that attached to the top factory front seat belt location (goes behind the seat because of the shape of it, and has supports that go down to where amby attached the belts. This would get rid of the problem.

Not trying to be an *** or anything, Amby is a good guy and I'm just looking out for his safety.

The Harness Bar (GSC) that I mentioned in my previous post is the same style as the SPARCO but a lil cheaper in price. It's on the home page under reviews....The belts in the pictures are mounted correctly according to Schroth. I've never seen harnesses mounted at the same height as the drivers shoulders. DO NOT USE CHILD SEAT ANCHORS!

Urbanknight from what I saw in a previous post, mounted them the same as amby.

PS There is a whole thread about proper mounting and a small how-to in that thread as well I believe.

Can someone still sit in the back behind you or is it uncomfortable and annoying?

they are mounted properly...the bolt to where the rear selt belts bolt up....they are scca certified as well.... these are muuuuch better for a daily driver...if some sits behind ya.there is a clip behind the front seats that detachs it from the rear harness so people can sit inthe back comfortably...

^ If you detach it from the back, will the person in the front still be able to use it safely? If not, do you just use your regular seatbelt?
