Mitsubishi's jacks

Please be careful while using the jack that came with your Lancer. Mine broke while I was using it. I wasn't hurt, and I am glad that I had not started to take the rear wheel off yet. My car is sitting almost a foot crooked from where it started. I have always used a piece of a 2X8 under it so I wouldn't have to raise the jack up to high so it would be more stable.

Picture time.

The other lesson learned is I will never use the factory jack to place my car on jack stands. Looks like I am going to be buying a new jack. Again, please be careful, I was lucky this time. I will not try it again.

Not often. I normally use this bigger jack that is my Jeep when I work on my car, but my wife has the jeep tonight. Although I have used about 4 times in the past week while doing some minor things.

Everyone is right about contacting the M

That could be a safety issue that potentially affects other Evo owners and any other models that might use that jack

glad you were clear of it.

Call Mitsubishi and give them ****! What if you were in the middle of nowhere with a flat tire and that happened? What if it fell on top of you? This is a safety hazard and I hope you do complain to Mitsubishi so they can get this fixed. You got lucky and it didn't fall on you.. PLEASE call or write to them so this doesn't happen to anyone else. If Mitsubishi doesn't do anything then call your local news people... they will hype up the story for you.
