you will need an impact gun rated over 600 ft-lbs of torue. otherwise, it may be deemed useless

You disconnect your battery because its one of the many safety steps that keeps you from hurting your car or worse yourself. I guess it's not necessary to put blocks behind your rear tires when you have your car jacked? Or it's ok to climb under your car and change your oil with only your factory jack. Or it's alright to let Frank anywhere near your car... he forgets to bolt stuff down. But anyway, it's just a precaution. And I'm just messing around. But it's always good to think safety first.

Could someone tell me whether the RRM pulley is a different size than stock? I didn't realize that underdrive pulleys tend to be bigger so as to slow down the spin of the accessories. This is clearly a no-no for supercharged applications.

I apologize if the answer is somewhere obvious, but I think I have been following the threads pretty closely.

Edit: Think I found the answer. Could someone confirm whether it is the same size?

N1te, i like cost effective, but something about buying this thing off of eBay seems a little too risky for the cost you save..... i will look into procarparts.com later though. Thanks for the info again

RIPP makes an overdrive pulley that works with supercharged apps...they also make a small-shaft pulley for your supercharger.

Interesting. It turns out that they only use the small shaft pulley on the lancer stage 2 (this is the one that goes on supercharger shaft itself). I still have the stock crank pulley on my car. I suspect that the overdrive crank pulley is only when you plan to up the boost. I am going to talk to them about it when I go over there on Friday. BTW their overdrive pulley is #%@%! expensive.

You don't need to disconnect the battery for the pulley installation. I had a shop do mine since I never have time to do anything with my car but drive it. It took about a week for me to notice any HP gains. I guess the ecu can teach itself.

I noticed quicker rev's right away.

What COULD have happened? I'll tell you...my springs would have to install themselves

+1 hahahah nice job.

seriously; anytime you are working under the hood, for a period of time with any non-insulated tools, i would highly recommend disconnecting the battery for your own personal safety....it's not always about letting the ECU learn ya know.....
