wow its tru!!! pully rules.....

well just posting a new thread following an old one ... well i just put in my crank pulley that i got from RRM and to tell all of you who want it and are still thinking about it i say its a good $100 spend. the other guy who put it on his auto said he felt a big difference. first, the pulley is super lighter than the stock and you could actually feel the weight difference. and then when you put it on it just made that good pull on it. but at first i thought it was not a big diff. but i disconnected the battery for a while (well the time it took me to wash my car) and yeah after that i felt a huge diff. i guess the computer reset. and that made it work better; well i think well for all of you who want it, get it. ok, cool little toy i got.....

did you read the RRM thread. i installed mine and a couple others as well (along with a RA pulley). there were a couple personal installs in the other thread though. it's super easy, fast install, impact gun is not required (but EXTREMELY useful and a big time saver). without a impact gun you will need a second person to help with the install. it's important to follow the "silly" steps (like putting new motor oil on that huge bolt before tightening it back onto the crank). make sure you replace the belts and get them set to the proper tensions the first time...it will save a lot of head aches in the future

Ever been shocked before? Ever leave a wrench atop of your battery and conect the negitive and positive and blow a fuse or set a spark that lights your engine bay on fire and burns down the garage you are working in?

You disconnect your battery because its one of the many safety steps that keeps you from hurting your car or worse yourself. I guess it's not necessary to put blocks behind your rear tires when you have your car jacked? Or it's ok to climb under your car and change your oil with only your factory jack. Or it's alright to let Frank anywhere near your car... he forgets to bolt stuff down. But anyway, it's just a precaution. And I'm just messing around. But it's always good to think safety first.

Why you unplug your battery - yesterday, I was taking the fuel pump off my Camaro. The end of the wrench happened to hit the positive wire on the starter solenoid for a moment. BIG SPARK. Now, imagine what COULD have happened had I not been lucky.

well i had my pully installed my sefl with help from my friends at school since we going for automotive and we get to work on our cars there so i had everything i needed a lift the impact gun(big help) and all we did was read the instructions. well u still could use ur old belts no need to change them since its only a ligth crank pully it the same size as ur other oneso u could still use ur belts. the job took us 1 hr. 30min. so so to remove and install the pully its fair easy... the only thing we couldnt do was troque the pully but we gave got it to spec. its still on the car... well hope to answer some of ur all questions.

ok, sorry i hadn't searched it recently.... looks like it would be in my best interest to rent/buy an impact gun. my buddies and i keep thinking it would be a good investment and i already have a compressor (nice sized, not portable). but the pulley looks like a nice mod. RRM is gonna get more of my $$$ i guess

thanks for the respnses to my ?'s by the way. I didn't even get flamed that badly
