Future 07 Lancer???
Future 07 Lancer???
Anyone hear anything on the regular Lancers yet? All I can find are worthless info on the Concept X which everyone is raving about being so very close to the real deal; yeah right. I'll believe it when I see it. Anyways, the reason for the search on the 2007 Lancer is it'll probably be a closer representation to the future EVO X than the Concept X will be.
BTW, from the looks of the Calibur underpinnings, the new Lancers and the current ones don't seem to be as drastic of a design change as they are saying it to be. The suspension arms are exactly the same design as my 93 Mirage and my 02 Mirage heheh. For folks worried about getting some Chrysler based vehicle, I believe they probably let Mitsubishi have the full reins on the chasis. It'll probably be like comparing a Mirage chasis with the Lancer chasis, similiar if not shared suspensions with a stiffer chasis. So far they claim the new chasis is supposed to be lighter but I dought that it will be in the final product after they get all the welding done to further stiff up the car from the current Lancer.

why cant mitsubishi see the advantage of bringing the UK lancer to the states (the same body as now but with the 4G63 in it)? Supposably the UK sells them very cheap. If they did that with the lancers here, they could actually compete stock to stock with other cars in its class. Is there any sight of this in the lancers near future?

yeah they could have. all the other evo competitors have their base model relatively close to the top of the line. the subaru wrx is awd with the same body. how come mitsu had to be different and crap out on the base lancer. I know its an economy car, but come one, its not even the same engine, just the body and interior are relatively similar.
