In Cabin Air Filter for '03 OZ Lancer...
Just needed to verify that part # MR398288 (OEM Mitsu Cabin Air Filter) will be needed or will work in my '03 OZ Lancer before I purchase one. I searched and only came up with a '04 Es owner saying it's behind the glove box in his ride. Would it be the same with the '03s?
Thanks

As mentioned above, I did search and the only NON-Evo lancer that had any experience with a cabin filter posted that it was located behind the glove box in his '04. My question, does the '03 Lancer OZ have one and is the above part # correct?
Thx

Yes the OZ has the exact same filter box, I cannot confirm the part number but it will be the same as the evo one.
Edit, found the part number after searching for 3 seconds.

If I'm not wrong, the 02-03 don't have a Cabin Air Filter...
They start to put this only in 04 and later model. I had my control heater unit change under warranty, they put a 04 model on my car because they have a Cabin Air Filter to keep dust away from the mecanism.

yes, the 03 lancer has the tray for the cabin air filter, but the manu does not put one in. this is very common with many vehicles. (i used to work at a quick lube and we had to check for cabins) it is behind the glove box and then you have to open the door to where the cabin sits, which proved kinda difficult in my OZ, but i eventually got it open.
it helps filtrate the air coming into your car from the a/c or heater (the air you breathe) cars that have it already in, you can tell when it needs to be changed or at least looked at when you start getting funky smells through the vents
