+1 sparks a spark, all it does is ignite the air fuel not increase the combustion ratio or make it more explosive :P.. no difference in them

A fool and his money are soon parted.

You drive a Lancer. You don't need ******* platinum plugs. OK? Get on with your life. Get some cheap plugs because your car will run fine on them.

Calm down kids.

1st, don't buy platinum plugs. You will have to change them very soon because Lancer does not like platinum plugs. I don't know why, the car just doesn't like them. Sweet talking him won't help either.

2nd, there is a thread about spark plugs and everyone here agreed it's best to buy STOCK PLUGS.

3rd, whoever says you won't feel a difference is RIGHT.

Carry on.

hey

LOL I never said there was going to be a performance DIFFERENCE IN MY CAR I DONT CARE ABOUT 1 OR 2hp OR ANY AT ALL. I WANT PLUGS THAT WILL LAST FOR MORE THAN 30,000 MILES THAT'S WHY I ASKED. MY BOSCH +4'S ARENT WORKING WELL SO I ASKED WHAT OTHER BRAND WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THAT ARE PLATINUM OR EVEN IRIDIUM. I DON'T MIND STOCK PLUGS BUT I WOULD RATHER PAY 5 BUCKS MORE AND GET SOME PLUGS THAT WILL LAST LONGER. THIS ISN'T ASKNG WHICH DYNOS BETTER. STOP ASSUMING AND JUDGING. lol im not angry I put caps on so you all would understand what im saying. Thanks

Also have new NGK wires going to be installed to. Hopefully I will gain back a little spunk in my car (if I have lost any) as I have also had bosch platinum's in since my last tune up 10k miles ago.
Not supposely, ARE! NGK V's are the only things I've ran and have never had an issue...

if you're going to use platinum sparkplugs, they have to be DOUBLE platinum. single platinum sparkplugs do not work well with waste-spark ignition systems.

Given the very narrow platinum center electrode of the Bosch Platinums, performance will be degraded more significantly when reverse polarity sparks will cause material to be transferred from the large ground/outer electrode onto the narrow platinum center electrode's exposed end surface"

To all those who think he wants performance gains from spark plugs: That's not what he asked. He wants a remedy to fix his idling problem. Read carefully. I'm shocked to see it come out of you amby!

My Lancer actually came with the NGK iridiums and they ran perfect..that should tell you something.

How come in electrical conduction it is Copper > Iridium > Platinum? That is high school physics right there.

After looking at these plugs from Bosch, who in the world needs a spark plug with four ground electrodes on them?

it's not about conduction at this point. the iridium is the best because it has a smaller tip. iridium is stronger and harder than platinum giving it the ability to have a finer electrode tip. this, in turn, requires less voltage for spark. iridium also has a higher melting point.

platinum is favored over copper because they will last longer, or wear less. however you want to look at it.

hey

so obviously i should get the ngks b/c densos r too espensive. bosches suck. so which ngk? you recommend the double platinium ngk? any links to it for the 03 lancer? and single platinum doesnt work well on waste gate spark engines? what does waste gate mean? so basically double platinum or nkg stock? right?
