Help Bosch +4's

Hey, I've had bosch +4's for about a month. My car was idling perfect and now it's going back to how it was before. I heard that these spark plugs arent for our engines and cause them to run hotter than they should b/c of the bigger spark. I was told they were more for performance engines. What do you all think? I heard a lot of people recommend nkg platinums. can someone get me a link to one thats for an 03 lancer es. I think the bosch +4's should be fine. but i don't want to mess up my engine.

I will have my NGK copper V power plugs in saturday. Supposedly the BEST type of spark plug you can buy since copper conducts more than platinum, iridium etc. Only downfall is you have to replace them every 20k miles or so. Also have new NGK wires going to be installed to. Hopefully I will gain back a little spunk in my car (if I have lost any) as I have also had bosch platinum's in since my last tune up 10k miles ago.

You won't gain anything, you're installing plugs, not a turbo kit. The only benefit the expensive plugs have is that they cost so much you don't have any money left over for crack.

I'm talking more about this general perception that "performance" plugs and wires actually do anything.

the only time they do something is if your old stuff is hurting your performance. My plug wires are stock with 92k miles on them, my spark plugs are crap. I am not expecting any "butt dyno" increase, but in theory it should help a little.

I'm still sticking with they won't do a damned thing but hey it's your money and your decision.

For $20 I can say I have them, they will look cool (the wires) and they MIGHT do something. Plus they need to be changed anyway as regular maintenance.

Well, like I said NGK V-power are good (copper core), NGK Platinum, NGK Iridium are also very good. Basically any of those will work just fine and aren't too expensive.
