I'm 2 hours from Philly and I have a stock exhaust. What kind of setup do you have?

That's interesting...my car is not as fast as I want, but one thing it's pretty reliable. The BRAT box helped a lot. Idle is spot-on, and while I occasionally get a rich-at-idle CEL but that's about it.

I am pretty down on RIPP, they did a good job with some things, but I have gotten such terrible service from them (shame on me for ever thinking RRM customer service was bad...). I am still going to keep upgrading and see how far I can get.

I don't think RRM's shop car even has 30k worth of performance mods and labour on it.... I mean, how conservative was your dyno? 200whp on a mustang dyno can read like 270 on a clayton... I've seen stupid crap like that happen before.

30K is a lot of money but let's not flame him on that.

Honestly speaking...why did you go down the supercharger route? If you really love your lancer, then sell the supercharger and get the TC from A2 Designs and do your internals from RRM.

But honestly, maybe you had your fun and now it's time to sell all that fun to other member and get a new project car. 300 HP is about as much as you will get with the Lance...obviously you sound like a guy who wants a lot more.

Get a better platform and work your magic.

Nice work on the lancer bro...keep it up in the future

What exactly do you mean by reliability? Do you have the tuning cable and software? Did Ripp install your kit? Is it the kit 05+ kit or the earlier one?

god all this talk makes me wanna upgrade to an evo. . . . and i was perfectly happy with my Oz before i read this. . .

seriously though, to the OP. . . if you really are sick of minimal gains for your money, then either part out the supercharger and some of the less important RRM bolt ons and do your internals and slap a really big turbo on it. you will have to deal with lag, but you will be more than satisfied with what you have milked from a us lancer. if you dont like that idea, then sell it however you can to make the most money (part the good stuff out, then sell the stock car to a high schooler) then buy an Evo. . . simple as that. if you want to stay with the lancers, then those are really your only options. . .

if you are willing to dump the cash and time into a dualcharger setup, then more power to you. it can be done im sure, and you may just unlock some more potential from the lancer, but you will be frustrated and the car will probably need even MORE tuning than it does now. . .

My friend has a performance shop. He buys cars and keeps them for about 2 months. Mods and sells.

He got 2 Evos and said that was one of his worst purchase ever!! Said it was slow for all the money he put in it. He said a little over $20k. He did the same to a Skittle and got about the same results.

This is coming from someone with alot of money, and driving a Honda Civic as daily. He got attacked to his supercharged Civic. He had Vipers, 5 second cars, Jags, etc. And drives a Civic! lol.

Anyways, just look around. See how much parts would be, labor, numbers at the end. Look ahead of the road to see whats going to happen. This is the perfect forum to look at some Evos and their performance and how the owner likes it.

p.s. Have you looked into the Golf R32? Heard a few good things about them. But thats is even worst than an Evo on parts and labor lol.

I'm giong to say that your friend doesn't know what to do with cars if he can't extract better numbers out of the Evo. With just a few mods the Evo is a beast, more than it already is stock that is.

Man if you can get into an EVO without having suck down water and bread for the rest of your life do it. Ask any previous Lancer owner here who has traded up to an EVO about the awakening they experience, the huge difference between the cars, and the almost endless potential the EVO has for modding.
no snapdragun thats not what i'm saying. i'm saying, comparing cars in the same class as the lancer. not comparing the lancer to evo as in the same. of course i know the evo is better. i'm talking if all one has to spend is ten grand what are your options. used in good shape of course. you'd have,
a lancer. a sentra. a escort. a cavalier/colbalt. a xa/xb. a celica. a civic. a tiburon.
a 3. a miata. a focus. just to name a few affordable cars in good shape and low mileage for 10k that you can mod.
i'm sure theres plenty other options, i've thought of enuff but you get the picture.
again if all one could do is sell their current car to get something in the same performance bracket then whats the difference. like,
what would win, a turbo lancer or a turbo cobalt. they'd be close i'm sure.

If your going to get rid of it, Part it out... You should make a Decent amount of the money as long as parts are good working order ect.
