-take the negative (-) that to the body
-now what you SHOULD do is take the positice (+) and tap into the wires going into your sidelights (or whatever u call em).
-but if u want to turn on your fog lights without turning on your side lights, wiring directly to the battery should be fine..unless anyone else says ohterwise.

If you wire them directly to the battery, they'll be on all the time. Need to put a toggle switch in there, usually fog lights come with all the switches and wire etc. If it were me, I'd wire them to the corner lights, just how I like though. If the lights didn't come with the wire and switches, you got ripped off, go to Radio Shack or Home Depot etc. and get yourself that stuff.
Good luck bro!

yea, that's one reason i got a fog light with a wireless remote
but tapping into the + of the side light isnt hard at all, even if u cut all the way through, all u need to do is connect them back together.

but if there is a wire like that, it'll make installs a lot easier. there's lots of people who have installed fog lights on their lancer so those people should speak up!!

they won't be on all the time because the fog lights should come with a switch.

I recomend not drilling through the fire wall. I was drilling through mine for a power wire hole, for my amp. I went a little high and went right through my brake booster. $500 repair job for that. If you can find a way around drilling I recomend it. Or just drill safely
