Well you are certainly the exception. How many threads have we seen where people have blown their motors using nitrous? What kind of system are you using? Any kind of fuel mods? As for the rest, it's somewhat pointless as I was stating my opinion regarding body kits since visual mods are certainly a subjective thing. Oh and there is such a thing as lower case just so you know.

It should also be noted that just because one person gets away with does not mean it is a good idea in general, there is always an exception to the rule. Think about how many people run harnesses without roll bars or get seats from ebay. Just because hell doesn't open up and engulf their car in a torrent of fire does not mean what they are doing is smart.

thanks for the optamisum, OZlancer, Rock and Army. im debating weather to go turbo first or Body kit, i want to learn the car first at a lower speed for a while before i start adding a big boost of horse power. i could probley get a used body kit for about $900 shipped, then get it painted for another $400. i'm getting the lancer specificly to turn it into an evo 7.

Well, I have to replace the rear bumper of my bodykit, because ice isn't kind to my car....However, I just bought an entire bodykit for around $475 including shipping from a reputable website. I probably won't use the whole kit right away since only the rear is screwed up beyond repair, but you should be able to find a bodykit a lot cheaper than $900. I have to agree with what was said earlier, if you really want to wipe the smirk off a musclehead's face, do it in a sleeper. I take my car to shows, and I'm primarily going for looks while making performance a second priority, that's why I have a bodykit and not a turbo (yet).

It depends what kit you want. If you want a kaminari kit (one of the best IMO) you have to pay quite a bit. I think Accolade kits are pretty pricey too. Generally speaking you get what you pay for. Cheaper kits typically require a hell of a lot of work to get them to fit right. In terms of the sleeper idea, that's more or less what I'm going for. I don't have any flashy exterior mods save for my CF hood (that's sitting in my basement right now since it's winter). At most I'll have the stock OZ lip kit (with or without the JDM cedia front bumper), 15" bronze rims, and a small spoiler. That way when I don't get unwanted attention from little rice boys in their piece of crap civics/neons but when I want some attention all I have to do is rev the car a little and let the turbo do the calling.

I haven't tried to fit the kit yet, so I'm not sure how much work will be involved, I'm just saying that it's possible to get cheaper kits. I've never heard of the actual company that produced the kit, but it's possible they're just new and haven't had a chance to build a reputation that allows them to charge as much as some of their competitors.

i've been looking at the accolade body kits and im pretty much set on the evo7 kit.

So check this idea out: custom build a kit for $2000 Run 10 PSI, Get new pistons $800, $1000 get an LSD. and maybe throw in some new gaskets and what not. Probley looking at a grand total of $5000 With labor costs, right there. what kind of power would that give me? enough to spank a Mustang GT?

The question is, how much does the LSD really help? is it worth the $1000?

yeah, and lets assume you actually do run 10 psi, that would put you up a bit over 200 hp and the lsd will definately help get it all to the wheels.

Unless you know what you are doing I wouldn't recommend trying to build your own kit. You have to be able to find the appropriate turbo, get a manifold/up pipe down pipe setup, all the piping, wastegate, BOV, fuel system upgrades, oil lines, etc.. Trying to do it all under 2000$ is not easy and would require a lot of custom fabrication. If you want to run 10 PSI, you would need even more. Pistons and rods would be a good idea, as would a new head gasket, but you'd also need bigger injectors and some sort of piggyback ECU to keep everything working.

DRucea, Don't assume. A big t-28 is 200 w.h.p. at 7 psi. Everyone like to talk in terms of BOOST NUMBER. That is wacked. Every turbo of different size anc chacteristic is going to give different results.
A t-25 at 10 psi might be the same as a 20G at 5 psi. IN other words, they will pump similar CFM of air. That is just an example!

oh i wasn't really trying to estimate hp from that, more of the fact he wants to run 10 psi. depending on turbo and stuff, he'd new some internals to push that.
