reverse lights problem
i recently came across a problem and have yet to figure it out, both reverse lights one day decided to stop working, thinking maybe the bulbs were the issue i replaced them and still no sign, i'm not to familar with fuses and what not so i tried looking at my fuse box with no luck, anyone have any ideas or could possibly give me some insight on what to do?

Well, i'd take a volt-meter and check the fuses because sometimes it's really hard to tell what's burned and whats not just from looking. If not, could be the sensor that is activated when the car is put in reverse? (just a guess)

I burned out my reverse sensor in the tranny. Had the same symptoms as you. Had to go to the dealership to replace it. I dont know if someone here knows where the sensor is to replace it.

Most likely the sensor on the trans for the reverse for lights. The one on my civic has a short to ground and the lights always stay on so i just unplugged it. But it should be fairly easy to change if you dont have warranty anymore. It should be on the outside housing. Ive never looked on a lancer but thats how it is on the hondas and its probably pretty similiar. maybe someone can post a pic of the trans or the pic of the engine compartment
