How much to get evo style grill painted?

Hi...I am looking to get the evo style grill for my OZ and was wondering how much I could expect to pay to get it painted to match my car. Anyone out there have this done? What did it cost? Also, would a body shop do this for me? Sorry, kind of clueess about it. Thanks.

a body shop would, but it would probably be expensive since they will have to mix a much larger quantity of paint than is needed for the job. you can definitely paint it yourself. go to a custom aerosol shop and have them mix you a can of paint with your color code.

painting a grill yourself is really easy--especially if your car is black! if not you'll just have to do some taping. check this post out from my wreck thread, it has the evolution of my ralliart grille. all the painting was done with rattle cans.

cool...so those custom aerosol cans are a pretty close match? My car is Phoenix red, which I would imagine is tough to match, especially with the paint fade on the hood.

it's tough to match and there will be a slight variation--but it's the same from a body shop as well. chances are they will get their paint from the paint shop you go to.

get a good can of clearcoat though. alternatively i've found that the $3.50 cans of krylon "crystal clear" acrylic look good--that's what i have on the ralliart grill now that it's black.

Figure about $80-100 for nice job with correct color coded paint from a body shop.

wow... also depends on prep and if they mounted it. Guy said if I had him mount my new bumper and paint the $$$ is indefinite. lol... so I told him "OK, Ill do the mounting."

About $30 from paintscratch.com for a rattlecan of your OEM color paint. Good for a few coats... It's a good first paint project to start on. Not too big, and manageable... DIY to save $$$, and just to say you did it yourself!

Ah, you do know those for a 5-lug car...right?

I like those ADR's. I almost got those back when I bought wheels but ended up getting OR52's

No offense, but how come you can't just pick up the phone and call a few body shops? Why come online and ask us to guess about pricing? Does that make sense to you, really?
