I have a quick question and this is not targeted at anyone so I dont want pissy remarks back cuz u think Im jumping all over your post, - but when did tuning cars or the joy of tuning cars started to be looked at as something to profit from? I mean back in the day when the great great great granddad's of all our generations was trickin out their Ford Model T's (just an expression not literally meaning thats the era this started) they did it for the love and passion of automobiles, for the joy of trying something new and being proud of the results it produced and lastly but not least (from the winners point of view) having fun beating the pants of the other guys Model T or (from the losers side) giving the guy with Model T TT which he paid 100 bucks more a good run for his money but in the end it was all fun. Now in this day an age the only people I know the trick out a car to make a profit or look to make a profit is car manufacturers (as in they make an SE model that cost 10k more), Classic car restorers so they can auction off a piece of history at Barrett Jackson, or professional track racers that make money for winning a race. But a regular joe street tuner looking to put parts on his car to up the value? hmmm.......

That's not what they're talking about. A few people understand Blaze's point, the rest don't.

Trust me, anyone with a Lancer thinking they have any kind of "investment" is dreaming.

I completely understand his point. I'm not looking to gain anything out of this. I know that I'm voiding my warranty by modifying my car and that severely cuts the resale value. Even with all of my mods thrown in, it's still not anywhere near gonna pay me back for all the money and time I put into it. It's just that I enjoy doing it, and anything that you enjoy doing (aside from a few special cases lol) is worth doing. I cant wait to see my lancer through, and cheers to everyone who is deciding the same with their vehicle.

Hi,

No one is picking on you; just asking to remain on topic. If you want to discuss the evolution of automobile restoration etc, then please start your own thread. And we are asking that you tone down some of your responses; like this one:
