Nitrous in a Lancer?
Has anyone tried to put nitrous in their US Lancer? Any word on how much HP the stock engine can handle without having to change internals?

I remember someone in the old registry (lanceres I think) had put in a 70 shot of nitrous I think. I don't know if the old Reg is still up or not so I'm not sure if you can take a peek...

You can usually put a 50 shot on a 4 cylinder and have no problems what so ever. You will most likely see better response with an intake and exhaust because of the increased flow. Clutch should be fine too...just let it cool down between runs. I remember doing 6 or 7 runs one night at the track in humid weather, with little cool off time for the clutch in between runs, and it wasn't happy...but no other problems. (the old SE-R)
I also recall the the 2G Eclipse non-turbos were really peppy with a 50 shot.

The whole car blowing up thing is actually an old wives tale that started back when the developmental nitrous systems were being tested. If you only have a 50 shot and you install it per the directions with the kit you will have no problems, only fun. You'll run into trouble if you expect too much out of your 2.0L engine....i.e. you use a 300hp nozzle on a 4 cylinder and expect a miracle, when all you'll get is a piston welded to the cylinder wall. Be cautious and respect the laws of physics and you'll be all right.
