Exhaust/Sway Bar compatibility problems?

Hey guys, I have the Buschur catback exhaust on my car and when I went to put on my Progress sway bar today I had a lot of trouble with it. Where the exhaust normally hangs, the sway bar would have to go STRAIGHT THROUGH the exhaust. I eventually fixed it temporarily, until I take it to get new hangers welded on.

My question is...has anybody else had problems with their aftermarket exhaust seriously being in the way of the Progress bar? Or is it just the Buschur exhaust?

That's kind of weird, are you sure you have the bar installed correctly (not cause I think you're stupid, it's just a common mistake)?

Yea it is installed correctly for sure. It's on the exact way my stock one came off. I checked and double checked. I will try to post pics tomorrow to show the actual area.

He has them. They don't help at all because the Buschur exhaust is a piece of **** (sorry Kevin, but I gotta say it). Poorly designed, the hangers are completely rigged. If I didn't know it was a name-brand exhaust, I'd call it a piece of crap. My father has literally put together better-fitting exhausts in my driveway.

I'd honestly be happier if he scrapped the Buschur and got a decent catback, but I know that's asking a lot.

Nevermind, guess you'll have to fix Buschur's mistakes.

You have an evo, this is a lancer we're talking about, different exhaust and different bar.

I will most likely end up getting a new catback...but, you and I both know that won't be for a while

For now, I'll just make your dad weld me a new hanger on my exhaust

I wish it was 2 years ago. That RRM axleback would be so easy to swap onto your car. I actually sold the car with that on it.

You could always put the stock catback on, sell the Buschur, then use that money to buy the new catback...

I think there's some catbacks for sale in the for sale forum.

Buscher never took into account the swaybar etc.. Maybe they made it on an ES without a bar. Also the 2.5 inch pipe, even if perfectly positioned, would prolly hit perch or bar on a Lancer. Other exhausts do not. RM axelback, Magnaflow catback fit good.

That's what I figured. The exhaust would be perfect for an ES

I will probably end up buying a new catback.
