hey i have a question. i've had my lancer for 2 months now and i love it. my question is when u start ur car do u hear several clicking sound coming from the engine? it almost sounds like the starter is clicking or something. also when ur AC compressor click is that loud too?

 

I have mine for a month with 1600k on it. I have not had the problem you have and I have been driving it hard since I bought it.

BTW, I noticed you are in S.D. are you going to make to MOD in July? It was a great time last year and it was mostly ruled by evos

 

If i turn the ignition switch to the on position, but not engage the starter, there are a short series of rapid clicks that can be heard. Dealership said that it is the car going through it's self checks. The click of the A/C compressor clutch doesn't sound any different on mine than it did on my EVO.

 

When is MOD '07? I saw that WORKS had said Mitsubishi released the dates but i have yet to find any dates for it. I missed last years and would like to try and go this year.

 

i didnt notice it until it was pointed out to me by my wife cause usually im in the car when im starting it. i had her start the car with the hood open, and its annoying load but if its somewhat normal, im not going to worry about it.

Yeap, I hear the same,,,, Mitsu. told me this was normal.. just a bunch of solenoids and stuff... self dignostics procedures...

 

i heard the clicking noises after i drove it for a while. but i thought it was making those noises cause i just gave it a car wash and drove right after.

The Ralliarts do the same thing. It's definitely normal. Best we've been able to figure out is that it's a self-check on the injectors.

thats funny b/c the dealer is making me get all oil change records to make sure im not at fault, f*** dealers.

 

I heard the same thing and the dealer told me that it is the car self checking and that it is normal.
