Nothing, read the link in my sig and you'll understand. That 1000$ would net you 1 hp if you went the bolt on route.

well when i had my lancer, put some hid's on there - 100 bucks
exhaust - 400 bucks
system - depends on your budget
springs - 75 bucks
tints - 200 bucks(quality film)
CAI - 175 bucks

with that, you are good to go..IMO

these are your options, 1 being the best

1. Use it toward building up a custom turbo kit
2. Megan or Tien coilovers
3. Nex Coilovers $600, rear sway bar $200, Custom cat back $200
4. Buy a bunch of cheaper mods that will gain you approx 5whp

Exhaust and CAI are useless, as I said they'll net maybe 1 hp. System is up to you. Springs are a waste on a lancer, especially if they cost 75$, they'll just blow your struts.

Look in my sig, I have all the bolt-ons (intake, throttle body, intake manifold, header, exhaust) and high compression pistons and I gained 5 hp. Yes, 5 hp for roughly 2500$+ worth of parts. It's either go big or go home with lancers. Save the 1000$ or put it towards appearance.

Amby why do u have such a negative attitude?

I would go with intake, exhaust, and headers, then a sound system.

Negative attitude? I'm speaking the truth guys, if you can't handle it plug your ears and scream "LANCERS ARE TEH AWESOME" at the top of your lungs. Unless you are going to go turbo modding the lancer is pointless, my dyno session and the experiences of countless other members has shown this. I don't want other people to make the same mistake I did, if I saved the money I dumped into my car I could be in a WRX right now. That being said, if you want to mod, mod away. I had fun while modding the car but the end result was less than stellar. Maybe when you guys have been on this site longer a month you'll understand.

for 1000$ its not really much. i would get a system. my system was about 1000 dollars. i regret spending money on my intake. n/a mods are really pointless. save up for a turbo or if you only have 1000 dollars work on your suspension for now.

Seriously, did you read his dyno thread?

He spent probably more than the $1K we are discussing (pistons ain't cheap, kids!) and he got a gain of 4whp and he LOST 3 tq compared to a car with an intake.

How do you find ANYTHING positive about that? Seriously. I know it's more about the power under the curve than about peak numbers, but with all those mods, he should have gained some peak power. I highly doubt his curve is way bigger than the intake guy.

It's just depressing to pour that much time, effort, love and money into a project and get basically nothing back.

The man speaks the truth. SAVE YOUR MONEY and put it into something that will produce results.

You are retarded and should have never posted that. If anything you should be happy that he showed his dyno results with you. Now you know that modding the lancer with intakes, throttle bodies, intake manifolds, exhausts, red spark plugs, header, etc doesn't produce anything. If you want to throw away your money just write me out a check.

I love how people think that their cool, shiny intake make a difference and say things like "I can really feel the pull in 2nd gear around 4k rpms!"
