how much would they charge....

...to install high compression pistons??? or would it be best to do it yourself???

Why don't you call them and ask? It's silly to ask a forum what other people will charge for motor work. It's like asking how much a plate of lasagna costs.

If you know what you're doing yes, but since you started this thread you don't know what you're doing therefore you should pay someone to do it for you. Mess it up and kiss your engine goodbye.

usually for pistons you need a machine shop.

why a machine shop? just need a hone and a press. no machining required.

are the pistons the same diameter? you probably won't need any one to do any boring if they are the exact same diameter.

you could always pick up a second engine and use it for parts so your car isn't out of order the entire time, this way when you're ready you can just swap the engines and be done with it.
