Soooo glad I got the '08 Lancer!

When I was car shopping my ultimate decision came down to either the 07 Toyota Camry or the 08 Lancer ES. I wound up going with the Lancer because you could load it up with so many more features for about the same as a base Camry. Also, interior room was adequate, and not all that much less tan the Camry. My Wife was dead set on the Camry, and it took an awful lot of convincing to change her mind (Mistu's Warranty went a long way towards assuaging her fears).

Now I'm looking through the reader reviews of both cars on Yahoo Autos, and I'm doubly glad I bought the Lancer. Buyers seem to absolutely hate their Camrys, whereas of 79 Lancer reviews I only found one that was somewhat negative. Check it out! (p.s. Mine's the latest review as of today)

Now, I'm not a Toyota hater by any means. My other car is a 1992 MR2 Turbo that I absolutely love and do not intend to ever sell. But as far as sedans go, it's hard to deny that Mitsubishi has a real winner on its hands with the new Lancer.

Problem with the Camry, is that there is one on every street corner...not a bad car by any means, but just overplayed. Time for something else!

Best of luck with the new Lancer!

That's another reason didn't want a Camry. Actually, one of my neighbors has a pair of identical, matching, His & Hers, Camry's sitting in their driveway. I think he only difference is an ever so slightly different shade of gray.

What worries me about those reviews is the hundreds (literally, there are 370+ reviews for the Camry) that are complaining about the transmission. It sounds like Toyota may have put a poorly designed unit in the 07 Camrys. Odd thing is: it doesn't show up as a problem in any of the professional reviews I've read. Very odd.
