Hit & Run

Today as I was going out to do some grocery shopping, I noticed something different about the car. So upon further inspection I see that the bumper is sticking out at the driver side of the car! WTF!!! So I look at the rear and I see a giant crack While parked last night in a TTC parking lot someone hit the car and just took off, no letter no nothing @#%$!&@... %*&@$#... @$#&*@!... %$@&!#..... So I know that going to the insurance co. for this means increased rates, so the alternate option is to go for an aftermarket kit. I want the Extreme Dimensions Concept GT kit, but I don't see it selling anywhere yet.

Any suggestions...

Sorry to hear about what happend, someone actually touched my rear bumper as well, what it did was it slightly pushed the bumper in so that it looked like it was half a cenimeter overlaping where the car body and bumper section meet. lucky for me i could push the bumper back into place and then use the touch up point to cover the minor scratch. I cant tell where the scratch is anymore, but the car was like 2 weeks old. so i feel the pain.

I think we chatted before, I think your with a good insurance company, its ok to call them with a general question, you dont have to identify yourself, I think the damage is gonna be about 700 dollars replacement bumper and paint if its serious, if not maybe 300 dollars to see if you can repair it. Even if you have to replace the bumper you can haggle with the bodyshop because the old bumper if its not wreaked is still worth a fortune to them if they can repair it. If you need help i got the insurance hookups and I know of a bodyshop too so let me know.

any pictures?

Comprehensive claims don't usually affect your insurance rate.

problem is deductibles - so you may be required to pay 500 or 1000 depending on what your policy dictates, the two situations i have had with comp claims i didnt have to pay. but they were , umm unique.

i don't think ur rate is gonna go up cus someone i know had the same kind of thing happen to them and the insurance company took care of it without bumping up the rates. its possible that different insurance companies might react different to this situation but i'm pretty positive u'll be alright.

Here are some pics of what it looks like

@#%&!N BASTARD!

Rear Bumper

Side Of Bumper

While I was taking the pictures I noticed the clips for the bumper and decided to put a little pressure on it and VOILA!

This made me feel a little bit better but I still don't know if the crack is repairable, or if the whole bumper needs to be replaced.
