Ya that BMW concept has been out for a few years now.
I really like BMW's and think that most of them are really good cars. I too have owned a few and they are good cars. The first two cars I owned (in high school) where BMW's a 635csi and a 325is. Both had over 240k!!! on them and both ran and drove great I would like to see any lancers out there or even a Evo out there that has over 200k and is still running and in good shape and a solid car still.
I have also had a E36 M3 and loved that car. and the newer E46 M3 is Even better. I would take one and prefer one over a Evo almost anyday. BMW's are good cars and are about the only other car I would get other than a Evo.
The only down side is the cost, but I have spent more on my Evo than any of my BMW's.

Lancer is based on 2005 concept which in turn was around even before that.

To end this I will repeat my thought once again. I am not talking about performance of the cars or their conveniences here. I am talking about their looks. Lancer looks great and BMW is getting worse and worse. I am not going to pay twice for a "luxury" car that looks like a hippo. I do not care about their history, popularity or whatever. Just forget about BMW. If that was any other brand I would trash it the same.

One thing to consider is that most concepts are design exercises and encouraged to be over the top or radical to a certain degree. When they hit production, they're always toned down, for better or for worse.

I sincerely hope their production will get better. A few years back I used to like BMW. I would not expect anything but truly aggressive appearance so that punks drop dead when they see it.
