Does anybody here in this forum use Mobil 1 Synthetic on their 08 Lancers?

5w 30 or 10w 30 which one is the best?

 

depends on where you live..like climate wise.

 

I use it every oil change (first oil change was done at 2500 miles).

recommends that you use 5w20, though. So neither 5w30 or 10w30 is really going to be "best."

 

I use MobilOne full syn. 5w-30. Always does the job for me.

 

i did on my 1st oil change and i will again on the 2nd. no problems with it so far.

 

every 2500 miles? what would the computer say if you do it early? isnt it 7500 miles for check ups haha

 

No, I usually change it every 4k or so.

I changed it at 2500 for two reasons:
- I wanted the stock non-synthetic out of the motor
- I was about to drive from Ohio to NC, a trip that came out to be around 1500 miles

When I have a car with non-syn oil, I change it every 3k religiously. But since synthetic can last waaaaay longer, I wait until 4k (you should be laughing when you think about how stupid that is). I also change the oil filter every time. I'm kinda **** about my car.

Also, I don't go into the dealership for the checkups. I don't trust those bastards to touch my car.

 

Mobil 1 user here as well. Although I'm using 5W-20 since thats what the manual recommended.

I am still on dyno oil. I change mine at 4000kms regularly. I am not all about spending twice as much on oil for a little longer service life. It may be me and my opinion but I don't think its worth it for me. I will get rid of this car in 5-7 years prob.

So not too worried about the engine for the long run (even though I refuse to put the RRM pulley on my car )

 

I use it...Just as manual says: 5w-20. I changed it at 3000 to Synthetic. My second oil change came 3900 miles after. I will change it from 3,500 to 4,000 miles. Depending on weather conditions during that time frame.
