will that make the present turbo outdated and not worth the purchase?? I dont really know the difference.. and i'm lookin at taking a loan out REAL soon to buy Turbo
close enough.
RRM is working on many things. the stage 2 turbo is an upgrade to the current kit. I you have the current kit you will be able to go to stage 2 when it is released. It may require some other upgrades on your part though (forged pistons, shot peened rods etc..)
Hope that helps

i think stage 2 turbo is next too, but if you think about it is there really a lot left to do? I mean they've pretty much got everything you need for the lancer. but i mean they've pretty much covered the car front to back. I'm not saying they're not coming out with anything or that you guys should stop asking for more stuff. but i was just thinking to myself damn I don't even have 1/2 of rob ****.

Ok seems like people would like a little hint here... first let me start off by saying that the stage 2 kit is for the RRM turbo kit. It doesn't mean it is just a turbo change... rather there it uses same turbo... the turbo has barely been tapped into yet. Even by me!!
As for new RRM products for lancer there are a couple getting worked up. In a few weeks if not sooner one will be released. Keep your eyes on the site and forums as it will be posted when it's ready.
I strongly recommend getting RRM turbo kit first... stage 2 is a ways away in reality due to time constraints and $$$. Remember RRM keeps wants things cheap but reliable and efficeint. Best to get RRM turbo kit and get used to power and feel. Also you can start burning people quicker. Stage 2 is going to be in R&D for a few more months if not more. Gotta get everything perfect and i need to get faster first!!

sorry ot does the stage one even come with turbo manifold i heard they just use stock exhaust manifold or there 4-1 header set up. and if they dont use a turbo manifold isnt it worse not to. just curious.
Nope. As of now it uses piping to run the exhaust to the turbo, then back down. And yes, I would think it is much less efficient not to use a manifold, by adding more space for the gasses to travel, not to mention sitting the turbo right by the engine block where it can get heat soaked.
Where to start... i think RRM kit is designed perfect... especially for CARB CERT!! To get that you need to be able to keep stock cat! Now as for heat soak there is more heat soak found by using turbo header than the way RRM has it. Reason is there is actually more air coming up into engine compartment over turbo with their design. Sitting turbo down lower actually places it where less air travels over it and higher heat due to air absorbing heat from radiator + Block! There will never be a header designed for this kit as that would negate CARB CERT which is a big thing that people want... Being legal means everything to some! As for more efficient take a look at other kits out there... with their turbo manifold they have to push 9PSI intercooled to get the same HP/TQ we are getting out of 7PSI non-intercooled. That is stock motor no ecu upgrades just intake and exhausts. Not knocking other kits but time and time again RRM kit has outperformed the competition and I've seen no others even close to my times at the track unless they were on the RRM setup! Just my .02 on this matter.
As for intake manifold mods.... hmmmmmmmm!!! Hint, Hint!!

Boe I know you said that something new was going to be coming out in the next few weeks and I was just wondering if it will be out in time for the SCLC meet in Fontana? Maybe something they could show off at the meet.
