Evo X body kit

I am very interested in buying this body kit, but first i wanted to see if anyone could talk a little about their experience with it.

also, what additional parts or modifications are needed?

I looked at the back bumper and it lot different from the stock evo x bumper. the bottom on the body kit bumper does not have the black plastic molding, does this have to be purchased? or do you just paint it black right there?

sorry if these are dumb questions, but i wanted to get as much information on it.

by the way, this is the body kit that i am talking about

You are buying an unpainted body kit, so yes, you will have to get that part painted.

I am doing a formal review of the bodykit. I used the rear section to compliment my dual exhaust project. The review should be done early next month. in the mean time, in a nut shel this is what I think

The look is good
The fit is on the tight side
The durability is very good, and withstood a 40kmph impact and stayed in one peice. cracked, but still held up well.
The prep was rated good by the bodyshop in terms of quality of material, but still took alot of hours to get it ready.

My advice is find a bodyshop you have a good relationship with, because its alot of work.

Cheers

well i know you are going to have to paint it,

but as you can see in the pictures, the body kit is one solid piece, and the stock rear bumper has a black piece on the bottom that looks like completely different material (plastic) on the bottom by the exhaust

The Evo's rear has a diffuser on it, which I'd assume is a separate piece by looking at it. This kit is just supposed to give you the look of the stock bodywork for a lesser price, so it's not going to be exact. If you wanted to match the stock look as close as possible, you'd have to paint that area in a flat charcoal or something. If you wanted an actual diffuser, you'd probably be better off not getting the rear of this kit because it might be tough finding one that fits over it.

Or, if you want to go all out on an X conversion:

http://www.body-kit.com -- Their 08 kits fit the 09's perfectly. They have a -full- widebody conversion for the Lancer, it's also a 12 piece kit, not including the wing.
