AVG Fuel Economy for 2009 Lancer GTS?

Wondering wat you guys average for kms for city driving on a full tank of gas.
And high way driving? And a combination of both?

I have been driving the car 90 percent slow and nice because it is being broken in and it looks like im going to get around 450 kms on my first full tank of gas (driving in the city).

Does that get better? It says i should be getting 10.1 L/100 km which works out too 580 kms in the city...

thanks

so is the first full tank of gas not a correct way to rate fuel economy? Does it get better after the break in period?

well u got to keep in mind ur fuel economy changes depending how u drive, if u follow the break in recommendations then it'll get worst since u'll drive like a grandma when ur breaking it in then drive normally afterwards

How you drive is everything. With turbo we can even come close to stock mileage if you drive the car out of boost (just cruise). If you are checking mileage for real, you have to be very precise and you need to do it over the course of a full tank of gas. Some guys just try to look at the indictator in the dash and call that a study.

yes, your driving style is everything. i got an 09 lancer SE 5spd and believe it or not i get 700-750 km on the tank BEFORE the low fuel light comes on (which means i still got about 10 liters left in the tank). thats about 30/70 highway/city driving. i know it sounds unreal but i just shift really low (around 2100-2200), select the right gear, coast in neutral etc. and also my brake pads usually last me about 60000-70000 kms

haha well based on the LIVE MPG meter... i get like 45mpg in a CVT going 45mph. That has to be the most efficient speed. Highway i get around 27.5-28, but our interstates here are twistier and hilly. City is anywhere from 24-29, but that's averaging in that 45mph speed half the time... so that would explain that.

When leadfooting on the weekends... it's horrific. anywhere from 9-18 mpg.
