Aerodynamics

Hey I know the US Lancer Aerodynamics suck. Has anything been made to reduce the drag? I really don't know what really works but I know wings for the most part don't.

i can pretty much guarantee you that no body kit will ever be released for a lancer that will reduce drag. developing a body kit using a wind tunnel costs way too much and only companies like lingenfelter and other top automotive builders actually make good kits that will reduce drag and create more downforce...and those kits cost more than the damn lancer itself.

No aftermarket kits help with that, they are all for looks. Major car companies have wind tunnels, F1 teams, etc, not companies like Wings West and others. To actually make a productive amount of downforce with an aftermarket body kit is highly unlikely

the us lancer doesn't have the worst aerodynamics. You can actually feel the car sit down nicely at 85+ speeds.

Wings never reduce drag - the whole point of a wing/spoiler is to create downforce, which unfortunately creates drag as well. There is a huge disparity as to how efficient a wing/spoiler is though - some are very good at creating downforce with only a minimal increase in drag (the Evo7's wing falls into this category), while a lot of the GT-style wings just create drag.

If you're looking for functional aerodynamic improvements, one of the few things you could do is add an underbody pan. The turbulence under a car creates a lot of drag, AND a lot of lift at higher speeds. The problem with underbody pans is that they are expensive and create a lot of cooling issues. Another improvement would be to remove the rear bumper and fashion a good diffuser into its place. Either of these improvements would be prohibitively expensive to develop, so don't hold your breath for anything of the likes ever showing up.

Basically, you have to live with the aerodynamics of the car as is...
