Spectre Custom Intake

I have a Spectre intake. The Tubes are Plastic. What's better a Plastic Tube or a Metal one?

The intake looks chrome to me but that may just be the paint on it. I prefer using a metal intake pipe. I don't really know if there is a difference but the plastic may run into heat issues and warp especially with mods that create a lot of heat like a header. My engine bay is on fire after I run the car for more than 2 minutes.

they are plastic. the kind u piece together from like...autozone. like Fuze49 said ~ unless ur putting alot of heat in there, ur fine. the benefit of plastic, metal and rubber are debatable on such a short distance. the filter quality is the bigger factor. make sure tho u use the rubber washers that come with the connectors at least to seal it up.

btw: ur shorter setup u had in those pix is prolly better cause it is further away from the heat off the header and keeps the maf away from it too

Thanks for the advice. But I am putting a Heat Shield between the Engine, So that won't be a problem. And yeah I put the rubber Washers that came with the Tubes.

And yeah I did get it at Auto Zone!
