Spectre intake?

So I asked on the other thread but no one responded. Hoping I could get some specific help if you guys would be nice enough to.

I bought a used 2011 GSR that already had a spectre intake and CNT RS exhaust. Looking to save up for some stuff like a new intake, DP and high flow cat. I'd like to get a map going for the meantime.

Got the firmware updated on the AP and the stage 2 GSR maps from the other thread. What would be a good map to start at? What should I be looking for? What should I be careful of? I don't want to break anything.

I can log for you guys if you want me to. Thanks.

I'd start with the Cobb SF intake map assuming it's just a filter (a ****ty one at that BTW) and retains the stock MAF housing.

Yeah, it retains the stock housing. The box with filter is gone, but the housing that pulls air in is still there. Seems like a crappy intake the guy put in since I can't find much info on it for the evo. I'm very much just considering getting the $150 cobb right now since they support their own equipment. You think I should do that or go for a better, but more costly intake and pipe like a cosworth or AMS setup?

So what should I do as far as logging goes? How should I drive my car. Like I said, I dont want to damage the car.

Spectre is basically a knock-off filter of K&N. I don't think they make an actual "kits". The intake pipe might either be some kind of Autozone crap. Go to autozone and you will see some Spectre filters.

What color is the intake pipe? It's not the stock black plastic "scrunched up" pipe? Is it chrome? Silicone?

Looks like the factory intake pipe with the cone attached.

I don't like Spectre's filters (I don't like any filters that are oiled), but the cars they build are all awesome! There isn't a single car they built that I don't like

and Spectre stuff isn't a knock off of anything. Just cause they sell it at autozone doesn't make them knockoff's

I rank Spectre even below Vibrant...that isn't a good thing.

what do you have against vibrant? they make good parts, a lot of vendors on here use their parts to fab up evo specific parts...
