Well i heard rumors but i guess it official now. Just got a letter in the mail from the dealer saying my 2009 Gts is being recalled due to an issue with a valve sticking? something with the brakes I believe. Should be an easy fix but thought I would give you guys a heads up.

 

yup yup im thinking of bring my car down next weekend

 

It only takes a few minutes for the recall. It is just to replace the plastic valve at the brake booster.

 

is this only for 09s? i heard about this and thought it was only CVT trannys

yepppppp i read it two months ago its official i got a snailmail saying its recalled mannnnnnn but i have not experienced anything like loseing breaks or anything. i read on one of the forums it only existed in cold weather climates ....which in california and phonix its hardly cold cold

what would brakes have to do with it being cvt or 5spd?

got the letter too...sked on Saturday to go to the dealer.

 

well when i originally read the recall, it said CVT tranny only, and people were guessing because there were different vacuum lines and other things associated with the CVT that included the brake booster and stuff that the manual transmission doesnt have. but ill prob stop by my dealer anyways.

 

I stopped by my dealer today to take care of the recall work, and it turns out its only for lancers that were made through certain dates. When they ran my VIN, they found no recall associated with it and said it is only for Lancers made between certain dates...check with your dealer!!!
