Anyone else get unwanted attention at night with their Lancer when they have modified the exhaust?

Lately since my exhaust was modified I've been getting azzhats cutting me off and trying to race me. I just don't get it. I'm not provoking it or wanting the little extra attention from old beater hondas, acuras, beamers, etc. And don't just say it's me because I pay attention when I drive.

 

i get attention from cops.

 

I second the attention from our friends in blue. They seem to have a "thing" for my little car...

 

3rd on the cop no more then 4 days after i put my cat back on i happen to have a cop on a bike behind me after 4 way stop and after a good while he pulled me over and then said that i need to "quite" my exhaust a lil bit then hoped on his bike and went the same way we both came from.

 

Well at least I'm not getting stopped by cops but getting cut off by a beater Acura isn't cool either.

 

I've never had any extra attention from cops or ricers. Except the guys in the automatic DSMs with the 420A engines.

 

Borla, will never let ya down. its Deep, but not like "Blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" shift.... "Blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" into the distance.

How ****ing loud are your exhausts?

 

Mine is about as loud as a stock 350Z or 370Z. It's louder then most cars, but not stupid loud.

 

I have a full exhaust turbo back, as well as a MAP 02 dump. With that my intake and bov, my car is very loud especially under full throttle when my dump opens and i dont get any attention from the cops.

 

That's odd since it's not that loud. I know people who's exhausts are so loud I can be three floors up at my desk and still here them clearly enough to know it's them yet they don't get any attention from cops.

 

^agreed that 35 and 37 oz aren't loud. I have never gotten grief for my Buschur TBE w/bullet muffler, which I am told is pretty loud. I've had cops tail me and have even been pulled over, but not even a mention.

Funny Acuras were mentioned. When I first bought my Evo I still had an older Integra GS-R. The week that I eventually sold that car there was some Lancer OZ that was really trying to race me on the freeway while heading to work. Interestingly enough I had never really paid attention to Lancers before picking up my Evo. I wasn't into before then.

 

I have an Apexi cat-back exhaust system and about a month after I put it on I got pulled over by a state trooper who had started following me as i got off an exit ramp. When he came to my window and asked me for license, reg and proof of insurance he said he had pulled me over because i went over the white line while going around a corner (you know on a regular road there's that white line that's on your right, sometimes for the shoulder...in this case it was about an inch of pavement after the line and then grass).

He asked about my record and if i had a valid license and all that (ie no suspensions or anything). my license was clean so i had nothing to worry about and he didn't give me a ticket but still. oh and he had asked me when i got the exhaust. nothing more. just when i got it. weird.

as for people trying to race me... don't think i've had that happen in a whiiile.
