Theft Rate on 02-06 lancers

I am looking at an 03 lancer OZ and interested in buying it. The car has low miles, 5 speed and I like it, looks cool, drives amazing and its not a Corolla or Civic (Generic). I looked around online and can't find theft rates on these cars. Is theft a problem with these cars? I am looking for a daily driver that is fun to drive the only thing I don't want to wake up one morning and the car not be there. What do you guys think? Maybe get a multi lock? I live in Queens, NYC and park on the street. Love this site great community also.

What idiot would steal a Lancer? At least Civic parts have street value.

Sorry I didn't know where to post. But I guess Evo's get stolen more often. I am not getting the Evo because I lost my job almost a year ago and just got a new one. Once I save more cash I will definitely get an EVO, maybe a newer one. I am assuming that Evo's get stolen more often then just regular OZ lancers, If I am wrong please corrent me. Thanks for your replies this community rocks and I can't wait to get a Mitsubishi.

actually in the united states lancers/integras/civics/accords/malibus/and a few trucks top the charts on theft rate.
wiring is very easy to figure out, and they blend in with other cars pretty well..

no u cant really strip them and make tons of money.. but thats definitely a bonus. means if someone steals it they will more then likly ditch it somewhere overtime.

Again This is a great site. Most of the Acura and Civic forums do warn you about theft. Since you guys are saying this about lancers then I guess Lancers are not as common. Demon I appreciate your input also. I am out to the dealership to pick it up. Thank you friends for the info. Will post pics as soon as I get the car and detail it myself. I hope all of you with Evo's always keep your cars and have fun driving them.
