Tight, rusted bolts

Anyone happen to have any really effective methods for removing bolts that are slightly rusted and VERY stubborn? I'm giving up on my socket set and about to bust out the flamethrower. The two bolts in particular attach my exhaust piping to my cat and are so damn stubborn that they must be related to me. Any suggestions? WD40 is having little effect. My locksmith friend suggested that if the Locksmith in a can (WD40) didn't work then to try pouring Coke on it. (Apparently Coke dissolves rust as well as it does the enamel on your teeth.) Too hard to do considering its location, I don't want Coke on my cat, and I'd have to lie in it to bolt everything back on. Any other suggestions?

Could use suggestions ASAP if possible because I'm sorta exhaustless right now and may end up having to steal my sister's car to go to home depot for a rubber mallot and a junk wrench.

EDIT: The car's up on jackstands, so keep in mind my limited work area too.

get a can of 3-1 oil, or go to a local discount auto parts store and pick up a can of PB Blaster.....works wonders.....way better than WD40

Get Medieval on it

Man I had the same problem when I replaced the exhaust system
on my Eclipse. The downpipe/O2 housing at the turbo was the
most difficult part. The bad news is, they ended up having to
drill out the bolts and retap the threads. Sometimes thats the only way.

Preciate the help, gents. I'm headin' out for the junk wrench, rubber mallot, and some rust annihilator.

Let's hope this goes well...I wanna avoid drilling/retapping.

use air tools, there the best for stubborn bolts, if you dont have any im sure you can rent some, if not use a breaker bar with a cheater pipe, that works

VICTORY!

I WON!

My WD40, cheap wrench, and hammer idea worked wonderfully. The rust was only about 1/4 of the problem it turned out. I don't have air tools easily available, but I do have my humongous muscles. ::flexes::

Yeah...not really...but the vibration supposedly helps loosen and the car wasn't too rusted (I mean...I've only had it since mid January) so it came off no problem and went back on tight. Cleaned the nuts and bolts with a bit more WD40 and hopefully it will prevent future rusting. Fun fun fun!

Good luck to those of you putting on cat-backs in the future.

And most importantly...thanks for all the suggestions, guys. Even though it didn't come down to it for me, I'm sure other people will make use of them in the future. (Assuming they don't just post the same exact question as I did...which is honestly a lot more likely than not. )
