Change in engine noise after oil change?
Hey all,
I have an 03 lancer oz,and got my oil changed last tuesday. Got same oil as usual and the high mileage. I'm a very paranoid person, especially when it comes to my lancer. Just spent a lot of money on it since been living in Tulsa. Well it seems like the engine doesnt sound quite the same as it did before the change. But maybe its cause it has full oil now,or maybe I didnt notice how the engine sounded before? maybe something is loose? ive lifte the hood countless times. The engine is running fine, and there isnt any LOUD noise..

No,did at tire and lube place, have for years. As far as spending money,in last year ive just spent more on it then i'd like. $300-400 for tuneup,$400 for bent wheel and flat tire,$150 for another bent wheel,$300 for radiator, and etc etc
lordy lordy lordy. $400 for a tuneup? how many miles were on the car at the time and what was done if you know? thats pretty steep. and $300 for a radiator? i think you can get an aluminum radiator from RRM for less than that.
hard to say what this noise change could be, i would start by checking the oil level and referring to your manual. id also recommend you start doing minor maintenance such as oil changes yourself to make sure its done right (or done at all) and doing some research to find the best prices in the event you need something replaced.

It has 147,000 miles on it now so i'd say probly 140,000 ish or so. The tuneup was new spark plugs, and also a coolant flush and couple other things. As far as radiator goes,no idea could get it for cheaper. Could too much oil cause sounds I wonder,I dont know. Maybe i could stop by a shop and have them look at it..
what i would do if i were you, before taking it to another shop, is check the oil and then do a seafoam treatment. both of those are simple enough to do yourself.
