hood rattle

anyone have a hood rattle at idle sometimes when sitting my hood starts rattling up front where the grille is yes its the stock hood and i have never taken it off figure i will try to fix it when i put on my new grille when it arives. but i was thinking my engine is quite loud with a rmr intake and free flow exhaust with the header maybe sound vibration would have caused the problem if so you think dyna mat whould help???

Now that I'm done being a jerk, have you noticed that the car runs any less smoothly than before? Does it shake at idle?

It's possible that the grill is loose. You can try to tighten the bolts on it. I believe there are only two. The rest is held by clips. (Please correct me if I am wrong!)

By free flow exhaust, you mean no cats, right? It doesn't dump into the engine bay, does it?

A little 'mat around the grill frame could prevent the rattles, but you would have to find mat thin enough to stick in the gaps. Also, I don't think that stuff is rated for high-temp situations.

i know people that have dynamtted there hood so u can do it. no cats you are right i dont have open heads though that would be funny and incredibly loud. but i will find out if the grill is loose when i take it off i imagine bugged me out on night though thout it was a engine noise.

I stopped my hood rattle by adding furnature bumpers, like the peel and stick kind to the rubber bumpers that already are supposed to keep the hood tight when latched. After awhile that didn't work any more so I bought some rubber corks at the hardware store and cut my own taller stoppers.
