Heh...I just caught the tail end of the deleted posts.

Good, back to the topic at hand. The technique is often referred to as "Brake Torquing." It will give you a nice launch if done correctly, but it causes a lot of wear on engine and tranny parts.

could always do the burn out thing too.. keep finger on ebrake release, hold ebrake punch gas, drop ebrake when ready... but i dunno how well the drums would hold up since they arent made for a lot of holding compared to discs

I keep the brake down and rev to about 3500 rpm then get off the brake.

I tried the break thing, but i cant get past like 2000rpm and the car keeps moving, it like wont stand still! im not sure whats wrong, i am holding the break down as hard as i can!

Now do i go easy on the gas untill 3500 rpm then as i let go of the break floor it or do i floor it and then quickly let off the break?

from wut i've seen the 'best results' is if ur anticpating the light change....right before it goes green, while holding the brake down, MASH the gas to the floor and when it gets to 2.5-3k get ur foot off the brake ASAP whlie keeping ur gas foot on the floor.

this seems to get the best jump, but im sure if u just let it hover around 3k than mash it would be similar to, but i think mashing it all at once works much better.

lol shifting with your auto is horrible i was with my friend in his 95' volvo turbo when he used to shift the auto all the time and we were going down the expressway he was shifting along .. then all we heard was a loud *bang* and they took apart the tranny and found HUGE peices of gears and metal shavings everywhere... IMHO not a good idea

with only an intake i ran an 18.3

i put a rrm tb, buscher 2.5 exhaust, rimms, body kit, strut bar and then ran an 18.3 again

so now i have added a header to the mix making my exhaust 2.5 all the way back and i have beaten my friend who has an older eclipse with a 4g63 non turbo. i am an auto, he is a stick. he gains on shifts but i just keep pulling. i am just now as fast as a stock stick!! pisses, yes i am, did i love working on my car? yes i loved it.

ya i would say working on the car and gaining knowledge is the best part...

but i remember seeing on these boards a while... long while ago that people were running like 7.5's with intake and exhaust and stuff. I wish i could find the post(s) been looking for a long time but still cant find them.

Just wondering though, lets say i turboed the car, what would my 0-60 be then? i hope u say somewhere in the 5 's

http://www.importtuner.com/tech/0205it_pplancer/

there Buschur took a Lancer and installed there Intake, Test Pipe, and Exhaust...

"Lancer turned the Buschur Racing Dynojet to the tune of 103.6 hp and 116.6 lb-ft of torque" -- baseline dyno

"Peak horsepower checked out at 111.9 hp, while the torque peaked out at 121.6 lb-ft." -- after everything was on

so 10whp, just intake, 2.5" test pipe, 2.5" exhaust.

can anyone give dyno #'s of an intake, test pipe, 2.25" exhaust? finally put all the exhaust questions to an end...lol

so they got 10whp, slap on headers, and piggyback and you'll be good to go.
