If you end up purchasing through a private seller, I don't think it is unreasonable to ask them to produce as much history of maintenance as they possibly can (any kind of invoice, receipts etc...). Also, a carfax report is definately a good idea.

Gotcha. Not sure if I'd have the capability/know-how to actually USE the Tactrix cable, however. Unless it's for noobs and when you plug it in, a box comes up that says "Car Normal" or "Car Modified", it's probably beyond my capabilities.

I mostly do bolt-ons and pay for tuning.

Definitely will happen. No luck on getting a house yet, so my finances are still "frozen" until things get squared away.

Someday a Lancer will be mine. Saw a great one the other day. *sigh*
