AWD sports sedans are the new thing now...look for more cars in the upcoming future to be AWD...four door AWD that is...another thing is if you in to shows and want to compete...you need to make your car JDM...thats what judges look for...that hybrid mix match of taillights, and headlights, etc... thats old news...JDM conversions are the in thing...so get out and buy a real j-spec super car...and that does not include honda/acura...AWD sports sedans is what you want...
Mary Kate !! We missed you!
You should post more often and we'll be sure to watch/tape your show
Back to cars...
The Evo6 weights about 2800lbs, and the previous gen STis weight about 2700lbs, i believe.
Lots of manufacturers are coming out with AWD sedans now.
Jaguar X-type
BMW (though with a crappy fixed awd system)
Mazda has a 626mps concept (which looks like the Evo)
I think the new Rx-8 looks really cool !
Nice interior too.

I don't know what I'd get. Kinda leaning towards an IS300 or F150 Lightning. There really are a lot of nice vehicles coming out on the market in the near future. I guess the manufactures are loosening up a little. The 2002 Altima will probably be voted the sleeper of the year. But there is truly something to be said about a vehicle with all wheel drive. I test drove the WRX and yes the car feels so much more solid than my '98 RS, but I can't pay for any car that I feel doesn't look good until I'm in the driver's seat. I would pay top dollar for the engine and drivetrain but the body??? Naaahh! I guess I'll be holding on to my Impreza RS for safe keeping while the dust settles. I think that, unlike the past, it will be a lot harder to pick out a mediocre performer. No matter what you pick, you'll be happy with it.

I will probably go with the RX-8 . I Like rotary engines and I have owned two RX-7 in the past. I am also considering the Infiniti G35( skyline) since it has the same drivetrain as the new 350z. I may consider the STI depending how watered down it is. There is just to many great cars coming out in the price range I am looking for.
I think before anyone chooses what they want they really have to go out and test drive the competition. Then look at everything price wise all though everything will be pretty close there too, you just have to wait and see I quess. No matter what, "IT WILL BE ONE HELL OF A SHOW"
I doubt they will release a type R anytime soon, first they have to see if there is a market, by see how well the Type S sells. PLUS THAT CAR IS WAY TO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GET. and it really doesnt look that good
Maybe this is a really stupid idea, but as the cars are legal to be rallied in the US, why don't you open up a "rallyteam" and drive the car through that, or is the car not roadlegal then? Anyway, I know one guy in this thread has a real 6 in the US....
There are a few people who managed to use kit car laws to legalize their Evo, but I know of one member on this board who attempted the same approach with no luck. We can bring in an Evo for race use only, but to legalize it is a whole differenct story.
There must be some loophole out there that will work for everyone, we just have to find it

The problem is, is some states, kit car law car work. However, in most other states, kit car can only have certain amount of mileage each year (ie. less than 3000 miles) So it might not be feasable to go this way. On the other hand, to have a race car to be legally driven on the street, you have to have the DOT & EPA (vehicle safety and environmental agencies in US) approved which sometime will cost more than the car...
The only way left are either import it thru a registered importer and have them do all the work for you or, just want for Mitsu to bring it in...
Guys in UK have the access of grey imports, which is not available in US...
