hood latch stuck???
hood latch stuck???
has this happened to anyone?^
the manual latch works fine (l-shaped from front), but there is a latch ( pull from the inside of car) that seems to be stuck or something. it moves around but will not keep the hood down.
basically my hood is not all the way snapped on because the holder goes through the first level but not all the way down.
comments? replacement options? etc?

First suggestion - healthy amount of WD-40.
Second suggestion - healthy amount of actual grease.
Third suggestion - if 1 & 2 don't work, THEN look into replacement.

wow. Get this fixed ASAP! The wind force at only 60MPH is like 140 ft/pounds of lift on something like a hood. :O
Ensure the latch handle on the inside is 'pushed back in' (normally spring loaded).
Look at the latch itself - is the 'holder bar' crossed over the assembly (and the 'bolt' on the hood cannot go into the latch assembly)? Pix would help a lot. Look at another hood latch assembly (they are all essentially the same) and you will see what i mean. You should see where the bolt goes in and then it levers over the bolt...
