CAI or SRI?
upgrading the engine's intake is one of the first thing people do when modifying their rides, namely because of the relative inexpensiveness. i was wondering what's the difference between a cold-air intake and a short ram intake? and what are the advantages/disadvantages of one versus the other?
I'm with golgo13 - your questions are really general and could be found lots of places.
I'll give you the Cliff's Notes:
SRI - helps low-RPM power, safer than CAI, smaller gains, install is much easier
CAI - helps high-RPM power, danger of water intake if you drive through deep water, better gains.
In the end, which to buy depends on what you value. I personally prefer SRI, but both of them are good upgrades over the stock set-up.

I would go with the cai for the better gains but if you're in an area with higher water or deep puddles when it rains(will come up to the bumper) I wouldn't risk it.

i have an injen SRI... but i have to disagree with what people are saying with any gains... it sounds nice, but you're probably better off just adding a nicer filter on ur stock box if you want a gain from a SRI. the CAI at least grabs colder air. with an SRI you grab a huge amount of hot air from the engine bay. its kinda like running a mile in really hot weather compared to running a mile in nice cool crisp air, but for ur motor.
i tested CAI vs SRI on the 1/4 mile, and with the CAI i was able to reduce my time by .2 seconds did about 10-12 passes with each, and with the SRI i was not able to break 15.5, and the CAI allowed to me to trap a 15.3...i actually liked the sound of the CAI better, more throaty and didn't make that hissing sound at 4k rpm...
